Wynton Marsalis: STANDARDS, is a 14-song compilation of selections from all five Marsalis Standard Time Volumes (1987-1999), as well as other Columbia albums. STANDARDS includes notes by renowned writer, journalist and jazz critic Stanley Crouch. Album highlights include "When It's Sleepytime Down South," "April in Paris," Ellington's "Melancholia" and Monk's "Reflections." Shirley Horn appears on the album singing "I Can't Get Started" from the soundtrack to the film Tune in Tomorrow.
