Does working at a record store sound cool? Then you’re in the right place. This is the official job listings page for Sold Out Vinyl Records in Englewood, Colorado.
Our hiring process is based on timing, availability, and applying for the correct position, so please read each job description carefully along with the application instructions. Different roles may require different levels of experience and may have unique application steps. We do not recommend applying when no positions are posted or when your availability and qualifications do not match the requirements listed. All job postings include a pay range—please ensure it aligns with what you’re looking for, as those ranges are generally fixed.
It is not recommended to call the store, send DMs, or comment on social media when applying for a job. Following the specific instructions on this page is the best way to be considered for any position.
While working at a record store is genuinely fun, it is not always what you see in movies (some of it is true). The job can be physically demanding—records are heavy, and the work is often fast-paced and active. We are constantly moving inventory, digging through bins, helping customers throughout the shop, and carrying records in and out of customers’ cars when they are selling. We also receive shipments of hundreds of records multiple times per week. It is a fun environment, but it is also hard work.
Qualified candidates will follow the application process and take direction well. We’re looking for people who are friendly, confident, and able to represent our business in a positive way. We are not a snobby record store—our team is approachable, helpful, and focused on customer needs. We do not ignore people; we are here to help. Record stores can sometimes feel intimidating, and we want every customer to feel welcome and comfortable asking questions. A strong attitude, good communication, and a willingness to engage with people matter just as much as experience.
We often receive dozens of applications for a single opening, especially from regular customers and local community members. Because we are a small shop, hiring decisions are usually based on very specific scheduling and staffing needs. If you apply and do not get the position, please do not take it personally—you may have been a great candidate, but another applicant may have simply been the better fit for that role at that time. Don’t be discouraged from applying again in the future, and don’t be a stranger to the shop.
