The Mod scene, which evolved on the cusp of the sixties in Britain, emerged from post-war depression and crafted a niche filled with good times, danceable rhythms, sharp suits, and an air of elitism. This compilation immortalizes those rhythms-a heady mix of American R&B, jump blues, jazzy lounge vibes, and the feel-good, floor-shaking sound of ska! Mod has evolved since it's early days but it's survival suggests there was something special at it's core-akin to a philosophy that has endured through decades. These choice cuts sound as urgent today as they ever did, testament to Mod's enduring cool and longevity.
