Product Description
The Queen of Versailles (Original Broadway Cast Recording) - a glittering musical portrait of ambition, opulence, and the unraveling of the American Dream.
From Academy Awardr winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) comes The Queen of Versailles, a bold new Broadway musical inspired by the true story of Jackie Siegel and her quest to build the largest private home in America. Led by Tonyr and Emmyr winner Kristin Chenoweth as Jackie and Academy Awardr winner F. Murray Abraham as David, the cast delivers powerhouse performances across a score that blends biting satire with emotional depth. The album features standout tracks like "Caviar Dreams" and "Pretty Wins," the latter performed by rising star Nina White as Jackie's Daughter Victoria, capturing the tension between beauty, power, and identity. With direction by Tony Awardr winner Michael Arden and a book by Olivier Awardr nominee Lindsey Ferrentino, the show explores the cost of chasing perfection in a world built on illusion.
From Sony Masterworks Broadway, the cast recording also features a stellar ensemble including Melody Butiu, Stephen DeRosa, Greg Hildreth, Tatum Grace Hopkins, and Isabel Keating, with orchestrations by John Clancy and music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. Based on Lauren Greenfield's award-winning documentary, the musical premiered to sold-out audiences at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre before its Broadway debut at the St. James Theatre. The Queen of Versailles is a lavish, layered exploration of wealth, resilience, and the fragile architecture of the American dream.
