Producer, multi-instrumentalist, and ABBY band member Philipp Johann Thimm boasts an impressive body of work with outstanding collaborators, among whom his work with Sascha Ring, aka Apparat, stands out as particularly prominent. A classically trained cellist, Philipp was part of the string section on the The Devil's Walk tour and co-wrote and produced the albums LP5-which received a Grammy nomination-and Hum of Maybe. The ten tracks on his second solo album, The Red Door, are multifaceted, moving fluidly between genres, opening up and breaking through musical spaces. Club tracks meet cello; indie meets pop; electronic production blends with organic elements; and intimate snapshots-like an old childhood cassette tape-are woven throughout.
