This limited color vinyl pressing marks the 15th anniversary of Maps & Atlases' Barsuk debut full-length LP, Perch Patchwork, a masterful and beautiful suite of songs that has earned the band a cult following over the ensuing years. Their previous two EPs employed an arid, live sound, setting up Perch Patchwork to dazzle with it's lush contrast of strings, horns, assorted percussion, and a variety of toy instruments, all placed just-so on some spot-on songwriting. In a world cluttered with digitally-produced ephemera, an album that flows from beginning to end with such deliberate and organic grace is all the more special - not to mention a perfect soundtrack for the hissing of summer lawns.
