Sweden's Tiger Stripes, aka Mikael Nordgren, drops the first part of the 'A Tiger Never Loses It's Stripes' EP series on Rekids. 'Twelve' picks up the pace with irresistible low-end and funky, jazz-inflected key riffs, before 'Stay Hypnotic' takes things somewhere more dream-like, pairing shimmering synth sequences with glitched-out percussion and fragmented vocal snippets on the flip. 'Shape The Future' closes the first installment with a squelchy bassline, slightly off-key strings, and gorgeous dubbed-out chord progressions, bringing a classy, club-ready finish to this preview of Tiger Stripes' next album.Founder of the Strange Idols label, Tiger Stripes has spent over two decades forging his own path with standout releases on Hot Creations, Kaoz Theory, Kwench Records, and more. After stepping back to focus on his indie-rock project Little Lies, he made a full return in 2024 and quickly recaptured the form that's made him an international favorite, returning three times to Rekids since.
