"32-20 Blues" is based on Roosevelt Sykes' "44 Blues" and Skip James' "22-20 Blues." It is one of the fastest-tempo tracks in Johnson's catalog, driven by forward-pushing, propulsive guitar phrases that make it especially thrilling. "Last Fair Deal Gone Down" stands out in Johnson's repertoire for it's unusual structure: fragmented, drifting lyrics set against a percussive groove built from the low strings of his guitar. A uniquely atmospheric and hypnotic performance.
