60 years after Luciano Pavarotti's first recording for Decca, the legendary label is re-releasing one of his most popular albums on CD and coloured vinyl: 'Arias by Verdi and Donizetti'.The album 'Arias by Verdi and Donizetti', recorded in 1968, begins with a selection of arias from four Verdi operas: 'Luisa Miller', 'I due Foscari', 'Un ballo in maschera' and 'MacBeth'. This is followed by arias from four operas by Donizetti: 'Lucia di Lammermoor', 'Il duca d'Alba', 'La favourita' and 'Don Sebastiano'. Hardly ever has Pavarotti's singing been more natural and accomplished than on this album, pressed on yellow vinyl that reflects the colours of the striking cover.
